Educational Forest Holiday Camps

Outdoor learning is being increasingly recognised as playing an integral role in holistic child development. With benefits including improved language and communication skills, increased self esteem and confidence, more motivation and greater concentration to name a few. All that besides, it’s good clean, or rather not so clean, fun and has something incredible to offer every child.

As with all our activities for youngsters, holiday clubs facilitate child-led learning and discovery in the outdoors. Everything we offer builds on the innate curiosity and sense of wonder that the natural environment brings out in children of all ages.

No two days are ever the same at our holiday clubs!

Children will participate in a range of activities on the school field and in the local woodland. We take our lead from the interests of the children and the conditions on the day, exploring adventures like bushcraft, environmental art, woodland crafts and games, campfire cooking and journeying through the woods.

We enjoy taking the opportunity to pass on a range of hard skills to those eager and interested, including using tools and managing risk effectively, bushcraft and survival knowledge. Supporting the development of softer skills like cooperation, empathy, emotional intelligence and leadership are elegantly weaved throughout the sessions by our experienced leaders.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

Our Forest activity sessions run in all weathers (the only weather that may put a stop to sessions are lightening and extremely high wind).

To have a positive experience, children need to be dressed appropriately, so old, inexpensive clothes are most suitable.

These guidelines should help:

  • Waterproof Jacket & Trousers
  • All-in-one waterproofs are very useful, especially for younger children.
  • Layers – more in winter (2 isn’t enough!)
  • Long trousers (to avoid stinging nettles and scratching hazards)
  • Wellies/other waterproof boots/strong shoes/trainers suitable for all seasons.
  • Woolly hat, gloves & scarf
  • Sun hat (in summer/sunny weather)

We have a duty of care for your child and we make every attempt to ensure that they are dressed appropriately (using spare resources where possible). However, we will not be able to take children if they are inadequately dressed.
